It so important to connect with others when you have a baby. Alone or partnered, it's just nice to get out and be around people who are willing to talk about things your close but childless freinds wont understand. My best freind August and I noted on more then one occasion that while we had spent hours as teenages discussing shades of make up, we now spent times discussing shades of baby poop and what foods cause what kind of poop. I swear it was a more entertaining time then it sounds. I had a single moms support group on the USM campus that I frequented religiously, but I definatly would have done the Birth Roots group listed below if it had been around or on my radar at the time.
